Children
arrive through referral from county agencies (Child Protective Services
and/or Mental Health). Most have been removed from their homes by Child
Protective Services due to neglect, abuse, abandonment or being at-risk
of these conditions.
Children
remain at Casa Pacifica until foster homes are found or their cases
are resolved by the court system.
Residential
Treatment Center for severely emotionally disturbed children.
Non-profit
facility opened in 1994.
Children
are ages 0—18 in a variety of campus and community based programs.
Maximum
of 45 children in crisis care, 28 children in residential treatment,
15 day students, and 40 receive community-based services.
More than
500 children and their families served annually.
Three on-campus
schools: A non-public preschool (crisis care), non-public school (residential
care & day students) and public school (crisis care).
Fully certified
medical clinic and 24-hour nursing.
S.T.O.P.
(Supportive Therapeutic Options Program) after school care until 5:00PM
for day students. Offering therapeutic activities, family nights, parent
support groups & home-based services to day students.
TBS (Therapeutic
Behavioral Services) offers in-home mental health services to keep families
intact for children at-risk of being placed in out-of-home care.
23-acre
campus located in a beautiful rural setting five miles from the Pacific
ocean.
$10,000,000
annual budget
90% of
budget from public funds (federal, state and local agencies)
Must raise
at least $1,000,000 annually from private funds to maintain level of
care.
